Recent distilling school graduate Kyle Hutchins of Seattle, WA, had this to say...

"If you are an aspiring distiller, or just want to learn and understand more about the art, science, and business of distilling, the Dry Fly classes are tremendous. I did the two day class and learned tons -- more than my two years of reading and research. As a prospective distiller, I came armed with questions galore and not only got 'em answered, but also got questions asked of me. Dry Fly's combination of mentorship and hands-on training is a winner. Not a minute or dime was wasted."

Graduate John Little of Lewisburg, WV, also reviewed our school...

"The practical distilling class was all I had hoped for and more. Don and Kent leave nothing out and allow you a unique opportunity to get real, hands-on experience in all phases of the business from mashing to fermenting to distilling to general business execution. They answered my questions with clarity and even forced me to think about my own project from a different prospective.

The experience at Dry Fly's practical distilling class was, without a doubt, the most useful and productive time I have spent on my project thus far. Having no experience in the brewing or distilling industry, I have spent countless hours reading and researching. I even attended the classes at MSU. I should have done this sooner so I could figure out how to more wisely spend my time.

The guys at Dry Fly were amazing. They made me feel like family from day one and the experience was fabulous. I got hands-on experience in every facet of the business including mashing, fermenting, distilling, and bottling. Any student of the practical distilling class will fully understand how to get started in the business and to make great product...the rest is up to you, your imagination, and your hard work.

The guys at Dry Fly spent hours going over my ideas, business plan, and equipment. They helped me save nearly $40,000 in equipment costs and probably another $30,000-$40,000 in other expenses along the way. I think it's the best $1500 I've ever spent....talk about ROI.

Be sure to ask about Kent about the corporate seal, it's a masterpiece. Thanks again......"

Brian Morton of Prosser, WA, sent this review our way...

"Dry Fly Crew,

You truly make one feel comfortable and apart of something. I hope to see all of you in my neck of the woods sometime soon!

Don and Kent,

The Dry Fly Distilling Class was exactly what I needed to jump start my craft distilling adventure. The weeklong "Grain to Bottle" class covered everything I needed to know and more. Your expert advice and ideas about this exciting new segment in the beverage industry will go a long way and will prove to be invaluable towards the growth of many new craft distilleries within Washington. You came highly recommended and proved to be overachievers. I would strongly urge anyone who wants to get involved in this exciting trade to go see you and learn from the best!

Cheers to the seal, and the dream!"

Nick English of Jackson Hole, WY, also had a few words...

"Don,

I just wanted to thank you, Kent, and Pat for teaching me so much last week. I had a great time learning the art of distilling with all three of you and I definitely think you inspired me to move forward with opening a craft distillery in Jackson. Once again I want to say thanks."

Sincerely,
Nick

George Racz of Las Vegas, NV, sent us this little note ...

"Don,

I was so excited when I received Don's email with the big news: I was accepted to participate in Dry Fly School. I knew this can be an extraordinary experience for me, as a newcomer in this industry, because not so many people are opening their doors and SHARE the knowledge, the personal struggle and victories with the reason to help you.

I was not disappointed. Passion, Craft and Friendship! - this is what I find during this week in Dry Fly Distillery. I take everything - Passion, Craft and Friendship - with me, and I hope one day they will be proud of me.

Thank YOU!

PS1: Kedves Don, Kent es Patrick! Koszonom szepen a Baratsagotokat, remelem ez mindig igy marad. Remelem lesz ra alkalmunk es egyutt nezzuk majd a balnakat a partrol. Egeszsegunkre and HAJRA CHIEFS!

Tim Danaher of Colfax, WA, proclaimed...

"Don and Kent,

Dry Fly Distilling's one week Practical Distillers Course was the best time and money I've spent in years. The one-on-one, hands-on exposure to all facets of the distilling process and in-depth treatment of business plans, branding, marketing, and legal requirements gave me a sharper focus concerning my own plans, saving tens of thousands of dollars.

To anyone with more than a casual interest in producing spirits and considering the enterprise of distilling, I recommend this course as a valuable investment in sorting out the facts and realities of making beverage alcohol.

Kyle Ryan of Anchorage, AK, articulately wrote...

"Don and Kent have a first class operation that is explained fully in an extremely professional, yet easy to understand open forum. Every aspect of owning and operating a micro-distillery is made available: from proper distillation starting with raw product, to government requirements, reporting and taxes, equipment, bottling, and market analysis/marketing strategy. This course was worth every penny."
