Vodka Batch 59 & Gin Batch 50

On Dec. 17th we had a great Thursday night group. Swinging Doors team leader Tina brought with her Mike, Spencer, Lori, Jack, Terri, Diane, Larry, Dan, Marc, Kim, and Larry. This veteran crew earned their team name Rock Star by smashing out 40+ cases of Vodka. This was the 59th Batch of Vodka and the second great crew we’ve had courtesy of Tina. Thanks to a great crew!

On Saturday Dec. 19th we had another incredible bottling crew. Rhonda, Julie, Jennifer, Mavis, Barbara, Braun, Calvin, and Elisha came in and helped us bottle up Gin Batch #50. Included in this group were a number of chefs. These culinary artists were here to not only indulge in the intricate Dry Fly flavors and bottling experience, but to also celebrate a birthday. Pizza and Ding Dongs adorned with candles were all enjoyed after a great day of bottling. Cheers to another fantastic group!

Vodka 56 (57), Gin 49, & Vodka 58

On Saturday Dec. 5th we had a great group come in and help us bottle up Batch 56/57 of Vodka (both 56 and 57 were written on bottles). Regardless, Travis, Scott, Cammie, Jery, Brian, Chrissy, Gina, Teri, Sam, Becky, and Bill all came in and helped out. Even with the Cougs coming off a tough Apple Cup loss and the basketball team losing a heartbreaker to the Zags, Jery showed up in full Coug gear and made a fine team leader. Thanks for all the help and we hope to see you soon!

On Dec. 10th we had to dip into the reserves and find a solid Thursday night group. Luckily for us Lana was able to round up some friends (Wenda, Roy, Linda, Denny, Kari, Silah) and we also had Kate and Mike to round out the night. This groups was so focused they decided to forgo the free sandwiches that were available and get right after it. This impetuous group found themselves completely out of Gin to put in a bottle in no time. Thank you crew for all hard work, cheers!

This last Saturday we started our bottling at 10 am instead of 11 am because our crew was heading to the WSU basketball game. This is the first time in the history of Dry Fly bottling has been moved. On this historic day our friends David, Kennet, Charlie, Bryan, Lorah, Richard, Mark, Jay, Steve, Bill and Leroy came in and helped us package Vodka Batch 58. This group was crazy fast and finished up 70+ cases in 1.5 hours. A historical feat for a historical day. After some David’s Pizza the guys were outta here and off to the game, cheers to a great group and look forward to seeing you all soon!

Whiskey 2.0 Sold Out

For those of you still hoping to find a bottle of our latest Whiskey batch, we are sorry to inform you that it has been sold out since 9 am Dec. 4th. We are continually blown away by the support and energy people have shown for our products. Our next whiskey release will be March/April of 2010. In the meantime we hope you will continue to enjoy our Vodka and Gin. Please have a safe and happy holiday season. Cheers!

Whiskey Release Update

Gin #47 & Vodka #57 (56)

On Nov. 21st we had an excellent crew of Linda, Randy, Gig, Jennifer, Darin, Brian, Melissa, Shelley, Jennifer, and Debbie. This was a smorgasbord of small groups that were able to come together and crank out Gin Batch #47. Thank you to a great crew, hope to see you all again soon!

On Nov. 28th we were actually able to find enough people who weren’t still sleeping off Thanksgiving turkey or nursing Black Friday injuries to come help us out. Patricia, Jack, Rick,Daniel, Shannon, Erin, Emily, Tim and Hilary all took time out of their holiday weekend to bottle up Vodka Batch #57 (actually #56, but oh well). Between celebrating a birthday and the general ruckus that ensued, it was a great crew. Thanks guys!

Triple Hops Distilled

A couple weeks ago we hosted a couple more aspiring distillers here taking part in our week-long distilling course. John and Marlene came all the way from Bloomsburg, PA to get a firsthand look at what it takes to make Vodka, Gin, and Whiskey. Truly wonderful people we had a blast all week discussing their future in the world of craft-distilling. John, coincidentally, has an extreme love for Miller Beer and will probably come out with the first Miller Lite flavored spirits. If you’re ever in Bloomsburg you can find these two hanging out in their private bar, 24 South, it’s a nice little bar….if you can find it. Cheers John and Marlene, and good luck!

Gin #46 & Vodka #55

The past two weekends we’ve had the pleasure of hosting some great bottling groups. On Nov. 7th we hosted a great group headed up by Wendy Colville. They made quick work of Gin Batch 46 while enjoying some great BBQ. Thanks to Wendy and her crew for all their hardwork!

On November 14th we hosted Ervin, Paula, Pat, Barry, Alicia, Carol, Sally, Brianna, Belinda, and their friends (who I couldn’t make out their names on the sign-up sheet, sorry ). It was a great group how was SO efficient that they completely finished their bottling tasks before diving into some delicious David’s Pizza. Cheers!

Zombie Biker, Swine Flu & Single Malt

On Halloween madness descended upon the distillery and provided what was the scariest bottling session ever….since last Halloween. Our crew consisted of hippies, Zombie Bikers, the Swine Flu, a Cowboy, Beer Keg, Dry Fly Single Malt Bottle, Devil, yoga masters, and more. I would continue to elaborate upon the horror that was Batch 54 Vodka, but I’ll let the pictures tell the tale.

Whiskey Release 2.0

Just a quick update on our second release of Washington Wheat Whiskey. We have set the release date for December 4th. It is going to be about the same amount of whiskey as last time, so it’s going to go quickly. Once we find out from the state which liquor stores it will be sent to, we will pass that info along. Unfortunately it isn’t legal for us to pre-sell or reserve bottles in the State of Washington, so it will be first come, first served. Also, we are also not allowed to ship bottles to consumers, so you will either have to come to the distillery or a liquor store for product. As for those of you in town, the distillery will be the best place to try and score a bottle. We will open the doors at 8 am, get here early for coffee and doughnuts! Until then, please keep enjoying our clear spirits until we can figure out a way to make more whiskey, cheers!

Butts & Barley

Last week we had the opportunity to host a couple more prospective distillers here for our week long distilling course. Ted and Brian came from up from Oregon to learn more about Whiskey distillation and to work on the equipment. In a few years they hope to be doing a real nice Barley-based Whiskey. We wish them luck and hope you all in enjoy the great pics of them filling a barrel, receiving diplomas, and cleaning the still. Cheers!
